How did you get started in your career?
I'm actually quite lucky. I surround myself with honest hardworking successful people everyday from all walks of life. I was sharing some ideas for what is now my current lingerie line with one of these wonderful people about 3 years ago and she said, "Why aren't you doing it?" That was it. She introduced me to a couple of her friends who could help me get started. The rest is history.
How do you create the intricate designs on your jeans?
I get ideas in my head 24/7. Then when one of the ideas stands out a little more than the rest, I do whatever it takes to get that out in to the world. I draw, cut, color, staple, glue, sew, snap, pin, etc - whatever is necessary. Each time is different and exciting.
What advice do you give all your customers for selecting the perfect pair of jeans?
You have to wear clothing that makes you feel good. It is all about attitude. Be proud of your body and don't be afraid to "show what yo' momma gave you"!
When do you think a belt makes a great accent for a pair of jeans, when does it not?
It all really depends on the purpose of the belt. I don't where accessories without having a purpose. Less is more.
What piece of clothing or accessory do you think every woman should add to her wardrobe this spring?
I think everyone should have something that came from a thrift store, yard sale, estate sale, swap meet or something along those lines. It's great to where something right off the rack while accenting it with something that is 50 years old. I always have on some piece of real vintage jewelry or clothing. That one piece is always unique and gets some attention now and again.
