What is the most essential skill you learned in training or while working as a hair stylist and makeup artist?
Perfecting a woman's natural beauty by creating a flawless canvas... enhancing her best features, and finishing with hair to complete the look.
In a year where do you see yourself working?
Expanding my company, Jade Productions as Salon Jade. Currently I am a pro make-up/hair artist that freelances from LA/NYC for celebrity, music and entertainment events... I'd like to also open a live Salon Jade in Phoenix as my hub.
What product do you use everyday that most people do not?
M.A.C. face primer... it coats the skin, for a smooth texture to give that silky smooth look. It also helps the make-up to stay on longer and fresh.
What is your favorite cosmetics brand? Why?
M.A.C. cosmetics, no question!!! Great pigments, long wear/flawless foundation and colors for everyone.
For a women heading out on a date, what tips could you give her to get a sexy and glamorous look without spending all night on it?
I'd absolutely recommend a light sweep of M.A.C. Studio Fix- it's powder and foundation in one. Add a slight shimmer to the brow bone with one light coat of mascara and red lined glossy lips to complete the day to glam look.
What are the hottest colors in cosmetics right now?
Red glossy lips, sculpted brows, cat eye winged eyeliner and the candle lit glow canvas- the celebrity, glamorous look. It is subtle, yet sexy to the subconscious... The look is very detailed. It shows a woman who is taking extra time for the details without being too over done.
The biggest hair trend in 2007 will be...
The Japanese Kabuki look... like the girls in the Gwen Stefani videos... very smooth, with textured ends...
