This season, what do you see as the biggest trends in swimwear?

Crochet, Retro Styling, Western/Patchwork, Nautical - stripes, Green.

I understand you find swimwear for Poko Pano from artists in villages throughout Brazil. Can you tell us more about these artists?

Actually, we find women who are uniquely talented - whether in crochet, needlepoint and lace, or in art - and then we design suits using their handiwork. Each collection takes its inspiration from these women and celebrates their talent by bringing it to women via highly fashionable, great fitting swimwear. It is also a wonderful way for Poko Pano to leverage the talents of women in Brazil who otherwise may not have the means to support themselves or their families.

What makes Poko Pano Swimwear stand out from other lines?

Besides its great designs, colors, innovative use of embellishments and overall quality, I think the line offers a fashion-forward sensibility that isn't usually found in swimwear, combined with a great sense of fun. The brand has a ton of personality, which we hope comes through in our designs.

What advice do you give all your customers for selecting the perfect swimsuit given their look and body type?

The colors that look good in clothing will translate to swim. Don't keep wearing the suit from 10 years ago, Lycra doesn't last forever and there are some great options out there that will surprise you with their fit, support and quality. I think halters (they provide great support) and tie-side bottoms (they give you the best fit) look great on everyone. Dressing room mirrors are evil if you are trying on a suit in the dead of winter - if you dread it, spend the $$ on a quick spray tan so you can get a sense of how the suit will look on your body once you've gotten a little color.

What accessory best compliments Poko Pano Swimwear?

Confidence! And any of our cover-ups or apparel (both relatively new for the line).... They are a versatile and comfortable addition to your confidence and our suits.

For 2007, what can we look forward to from Poko Pano Swimwear?

Our line keeps getting better and better as our designer continues to embrace the needs of the North American market. The 2006 collection took a step closer to where we ultimately want to position the line, to which retailers and consumers both responded positively. The 2007 collection takes our evolution one step further, and thus is more sophisticated in a fun, whimsical way. We haven't lost the sense of fun and mix/match that the line is known for, rather it has been re-interpreted to have a little more attitude and an edge that I believe women will love.
