Describe your design process. How do you create the beautiful designs of Pursuit Swimwear?

I look at fabric and art from all over the world. I change it and color it to fit the Pursuit line. I also create fabrics and prints from ideas that pop in my head. I find or create trims to match the fabrics. I then work on bodies that compliment each fabric and trim- working everything together to create Pursuit.

Are there any pop icons, movies, songs, etc. that have inspired a Pursuit swimsuit or bikini?

No. I am mostly inspired by the beach, resorts, fashion, color and art.

What tips do you give your best client for selecting the perfect swimsuit?

Go to a specialty swim store that has great sales people that really know the lines in their store. They can really help you pick what looks best on you. Also, take a lot of suits in the dressing room to try on. Suits may fit different then they look on the hanger. You might be pleasantly surprised when you try the suits on. It usually pays to pay more money for a swimsuit. You get what you pay for. More expensive suits have better quality fabric. This is especially important because you don't want see through fabric! The Pursuit fabric and trims are expensive. More expensive suits fit better too because we spend a lot of time fitting them on a model. Cheap suits fit by measurement. They don't try them on real people.

How can women keep their swimwear looking new throughout the season?

Rinse your suit in cool water and hang dry right after you wear it. Hand wash only in mild detergent. Hang dry always out of direct sunlight.

What accessories do you think are most complimentary to Pursuit Swimwear?

At pursuit we like to accessorize! There are great beaded necklaces and bracelets out now. We have tunic and very hip slit up the side pants and shrugs that make a great outfit for a hip resort. Earrings are fun too. It all depends on where you are going............ I also like mixing swim with sportswear.

This summer, what trends do you like most in swimsuit and bikini fashion?

I feel texture fabrics in Pursuit will look very new for 2007. I don't like too much stuff on the suits. Beautiful fabric and tasteful trims are my favorite. I believe the person wearing it needs to shine through. I don't like the suit over powering them. Also, self tanner is a great help too. When picking a suit I like to mix prints with solids, just like you would mix a sportswear outfit. Swimwear doesn't have to be so matchy as it was in the past.
